Ok #photography friends. Do you have any special techniques or uncommon photography habits that are part of your shooting style?
I have two.
1) Speedlights all the time. You will almost never see me without a speedlight. There are few situations where I won’t at least have my speedlight mounted just in case. (Correct, I’m not into landscapes. Mostly street and events for me.)
2) Shaolin Kung Fu training. You learn lots of unusual stances in that and I use them all to move like a human tripod. I drop into a partial squat if I’m shooting something moving or tricky and shift my weight from side to side using my legs.
I find it’s easier to fine tune my angles this way and by using my whole body to reposition the camera, the camera is more stable so I’m ready to shoot even in transition.
