My working definition: liberalism is the view that it is wrong to use coercion to force others to accept your conception of a good life, but it can be acceptable to use coercion to secure equal freedom.
I can respect the view that coercion is always wrong. (This is not necessarily anarchism, since noncoercive law is possible.)
I do not see why I should respect the view that it is okay to coerce people to accept one's own conception of the good.
