I'm not a native speaker so I may have the wrong understanding of 'jargon,' but isn't 'jargon' the use of the word 'gene" instead of a paragraph explaining the different regions of a stretch of DNA and how it gets transmitted, regulated and expressed? The use of 'hippocampus' instead of anatomical cordinates? Planet, Dwarfplanet, Quark?
