my first job out of college involved running errands for a music executive, from picking up coffee to flying halfway across the country to pick up puppies and fly them back the same day
i also had to drop off prescriptions and dry cleaning to his son, and bring his bag down to his driver when he was ready to leave the office. i carried messages and packages all over the city all day long.
i made copies. i mailed envelopes. i waited in lobbies.
no healthcare, no benefits. 3+ years.
it was great.
the point here is that your first job is not the one you deserve, it's the one where you learn you don't "deserve" anything and your degree—and the world—owes you nothing.
if you can cultivate a good attitude and work ethic at a shit job while you're young and while you build your contacts and reputation then you will be unstoppable
