So if you have a U.S. credit union (ahem, BECU), you can get the best no-fee foreign-exchange rate and pay zero to remove. So you could just deposit into a U.S. account. Germany seemed to have fees (2022), but the UK and France, it seemed there were 0-fee ATMs all over the place.",
