There's a corollary too which is that truth is custodian of doubt. For instance if you doubt that gravity will effect you when you step over the edge of a tall building, you're probably not gonna have a good experience. If you doubt the trustworthiness of a friend who's only ever demonstrated a faithful character, then that relationship is unlikely to last long. Past a certain point, it's worthwhile to accept truth exists to some extent, even if there may be unforeseen circumstances which could change it in future. In that sense truth is probabilistic and utilitarian in nature and must be provisionally accepted at face value, even while a measure of agnosticism remains perennially realistic.
