There was a big incident not too long ago at a tech university I went to (Argentina) where the faculty tried to hang a gay flag on the entrance hall and a student climbed the wall, stapled a national flag over it, and hung a sign quoting a law that makes it illegal to deliberately damage the national flag so they couldn't remove it.
After a few days of back and forth the faculty relegated the rainbow mafia flag to a secluded corner of the building
