Tfw when you take apart a simple 10x12 deck built in the last few years by a very well known local company only to discover 1) they didn't toe nail the joists to the joist hangers and 2) they didn't use hangers on the rim joists *at all*. And this is after their *second* attempt to rebuild the structure after discovering the foundation was faulty. #yeg #diy
Lesson: learn the building code, review the work in detail, and trust no one...
