The majority of people buying a car have limited budge. They will just buy the "nicest" more practical car with as much comfort options they care about for the lowest price, any EV below 50k will not be the nicest for any people criteria, nor the most practical and definitly not offer all the fancy options that an ICE could offer.
Because this class of people are already suffering from inflation, they cannot afford an EV at all probably.
On top of that: people without parking spot that cab have a charger, people that travel at least once per month long distance, families with more than 2 kids and some other categories of people will never be able to buy an EV at all either because they could not use it properly or because there is no EV models for them in a reasonnable budget.
The remaining market for EV is either people who already got one and will keep it for at least 10 years because it's only paying back long term or people wo would anyway never buy one for personal preference.
If there would be EV for all use cases (hello famillies with 3 to 5 kids that cannot afford a 70k ID Buzz or Tesla X which both are not very practical for families anyway), small and cheap EV for the city (tell me about the price of a smart EV or 500e which are still 30k+ and feel as cheap as a 10k entry ICE) and if all these EV would be same price or lower than ICE with exactly the same options (you need a price advantage to compensate the inconveniance of charging), then EV will be sucessful.
Oh and by the way, can we get an EV that is not spying on you all the time? When "jailbroken/rooted" Tesla with custom firmware?
