I saw a rant criticizing sysops for blocking Threads at the instance level instead of letting users do it.

They raise fair points, if only their facts were accurate, which they weren’t.

I was leaning toward a “wait and see” approach. The other users here asked me to block it, gave compelling reasons why they didn’t want this instance talking to Threads, and overwhelmingly voted to defederate.

I didn’t make this decision. The users here made it and I followed their supermajority opinion.
