I picked up my good camera this afternoon and it made tinkly sounds. "Uh oh," I said, "that sounds like broken glass". Sure enough, shattered UV filter and damaged internal lens elements.

Man, I really liked that lens and I was counting on it for the trip to Iceland next week. So now I've had to emergency order a new one to arrive by Friday. In the grand scheme of things, it's only a few $100 on top of the much-more-than-that cost of this trip, but still... Grrr.
