I agree with Diss on the choice of material, but citing regulations as part of an appeal to authority is very cringe.
Most regulators are ignorant, lazy, backward-looking and in thrall to either vested interests or maniacal ideologies.
Engineered wood composites can be compatible with water, especially for intermittent use, regulations be damned; but raw wood is so porous it is difficult to clean and impossible to sterilize.
Looks good though. Very retro.
