i may not have been on a gato-class submarine in ww2 when a dive bomber was spotted inbound and lived the longest thirty seconds of my life waiting for the watch crew to get below and slam the hatch shut so we could crash dive, but, last night the dog was napping on his beanbag when i started to smell skunk outside the house, and then the dog lifted his head, and the time between yelling "shut the dog door" to my wife and hearing it thump while the dog sprinted downstairs must have been similar
