Wonder if it's just a different build of Sketch? I tried exporting and importing a template file (same basic circle symbol) without even editing it and it gave the same error. So it's not related to the artwork. But seems like you imported over an existing symbol which I didn't do. I dragged into the empty white space in SF symbols. Will see if that makes any difference.
