Thanks for elaborating. It sounds a bit like you're overthinking it, and I'm worried about adverse affects of this growing attitude. Perhaps the label "bitcoin developer" is dumb, but I don't want us to strangle freedom tech because we're worried about theoretical "perverse incentives". This is the direction Saylor is pulling the community in, and everybody is crazy about him.
Bitcoin is money, and it should be able to fund itself. I will certainly continue to fund developers in my small way, and of course also defend them from legal action.
