It's strange to think how little politics really matters. It's very unlikely the UK will crack nuclear fusion, because it's a very tough nut.

But if they did, it would matter more than everything that's happening in the world right now.

Politicians think they're leading, but they've always been following the engineers, certainly since #JohnHarrison and probably since the original wheel maker.
