It's not a good idea to upload your encrypted files on big cloud platforms like Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or Apple Cloud. Even if you use tools like Cryptomator or VeraCrypt before uploading, there's no guarantee that your encrypted files will stay secure in the long run.

These days, storage is pretty cheap, so those cloud services might still hang onto your encrypted files even if you delete them. The worry is that with the possible rise of quantum computers down the line, these services could potentially crack the encryption of your files and see the content. This concern also applies to people who have been inscribing encrypted zip files on the bitcoin timechain or sharing their encrypted files on the internet.

What you can do about this? Don't upload your encrypted files to the internet. Keep your offline storage hardware in a secure place. Use multiple encryption (encrypting a file several times with different algorithms). Use quantum-proof algorithms.

π—•π—Όπ—»π˜‚π˜€ π˜π—Άπ—½: Knowing this, it could be a smart move to acquire as many encrypted files as possible now, because you might have a chance to crack them open later on.
