"content": "People say it's antithetical to the Unix philosophy of writing small programs that are meant for and excel at one small thing, and that systemd does too much. The thing that ignores is that systemd isn't one program, it's a big suite of applications. The other problem is that it's mostly pioneered by RedHat and people (understandably) don't like RedHat, but as much as I don't really like RedHat that much, they're a necessary evil and the software they write for Linux is actually pretty decent. Then there's just a smattering of people who don't like systemd for its unit file syntax or they don't like the way it logs since you have to use their journal system. There's a lot of reasons, some valid, most not. :meowshrug:",
