Kai for #Matariki Hautapu Ceremony:
Prepare a hāngī or cook kai in a pot or the oven. Here's each whetū (star), and matching kai:
> Tupuānuku - something from the earth, kūmara or rīwai (potato) is fine.
> Tupuārangi - trad choice is kererū. Heihei (chicken) or duck is OK.
> Waitī - fresh water fish e.g. eel, trout, or salmon.
> Waitā - ocean fish e.g. snapper, tarakihi, or hoki.
Cook these in time to see Matariki in the morning sky.
