on a very personal view, the main concern about multiple languages in a single piece of code often goes around the complexity on the interaction and the added effort on execution (if there's something doing translation back and forth). Like jython or bloody ActiveX.
But this seems it's not the case. Like banks keeping reliable cobol along newer stuff because it's too expensive to rewrite everything just to keep one language. With no real added value
