Monks' Cookbook by Monks of Kauai Hindu Monastery.
Another oldie but goodie. A book of simple #vegetarian recipes, mostly Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil food, that the monks cooked in the early days of the Monastery.
The does not suffer from any of the foibles of modern editing. One recipe might be for 2 or 3, the next one for 40 people. The ingredients can be inconsistent from one recipe to another.
But I love it. It is simple, with an #Ayurveda slant. The recipes are mostly quick and easy. I have cooked a lot from this book, and never had a bad one. Some have even surprised me - I feared they would not be tasty, but they punched above their weight.
I adore this book, partly because I know these guys, have visited the monastery several times and have travelled with them. I recommend visiting if you are in that part of the world. It is an out-of-world experience. ❤️ https://www.himalayanacademy.com/
