Even when we try to think of nothing, we think of something (usually, a vast expanse of black nothingness). Sure thinking and believing are two different things, as are space and god, but nevertheless I'm always a little skeptical of total atheism claims. Especially when they ignore change, and time. Our 20 year old invulnerable self is quite different from our severe turbulence/hospital waiting room/ deathbed self.
