Successfully did two HDD to SSD upgrades today on two very different types of machines. Process was different on each, too.
One ThinkPad laptop and one HP all-in-one.
The HP all-in-one was a pain to open. If not for a video disassembly guide, I probably would have messed it up. Even with that, I put a small scratch on the front. Not bad at all, but the design makes it difficult to take apart.
That is on the cheaper consumer class all-in-one, as they are designed to be easier to replace than work on.
Business class is usually designed much better for upgrading and working on.
