Rasterman (nprofile…paqn) it kinda looks like a shotgun, tho. A shotgun technically is a gun with a long barrel that is smooth inside (non rifled). Guns with longer barrels that are rifled are called... rifles.
This looks like and probably is a shotgun because smooth barreled guns tend to be easier to acquire and also easier to pass by the stupid gun laws that were implemented by all the shitty governments in SA the last 20+ years.
Most often than not shotguns are weapons that use shells full of pellets, and are what everyone thinks when you say "shotgun", but there are also some that use bullets, usually small calibers like .22. Note also that being "pump action" is optional for a shotgun, and they can have a manual reload like this one has.
In Portuguese we kinda differentiate a "espingarda" (a long smooth barrel gun) and a "escopeta" (a espingarda that blasts pellets), but searching here, it seems in Spanish there is not this differentiation.
