You should check the US military spend vs GDP sometime and maybe you'll learn something about falling for memes. The only reason the EU doesn't spend anything is that they need the US to provide their security. For example check out Greece freaking out at the slightest hint the US was removing their overwatch base. The EU would collapse overnight if we closed all the bases, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't.
