Going to try to get some Rhode Island reds tomorrow if I can find any. We've got 12 baby chicks so far. I've got 6 from one of the local schools. They're probably white leghorns but they said they didn't know for certain the gender for the breed. Not a fan of white leghorns but they were free so... Apparently they raised chicks for a school project, and after a few weeks the project was finished and they had no plan for what to do with the chicks they had raised.

We also got a mix of 2 Americaunas, 2 olive eggers, and 2 black Australorps.

That should be a good mix to reinvigorate the aging members of the flock. I'll probably cull the old ones this autumn.
