Battery storage is kind of an insane demand, yes. I'm surprised it's so difficult though, as using solar to pump water back up to the top of a hydro dam IS battery storage. So is lifting something heavy with a crane, potentially, or what Rondo Energy is doing, by heating up very well insulated buildings with bricks in them, using a glorified toaster oven. Lithium batteries are... kind of overkill for industrial applications.
