These sprouts were started from organic ginger roots that I bought at the grocery store. It takes 1-2 months for the sprouts to get started. I will keep these plants indoors under a grow light until the weather is reliably warm outside (around mid-May). Fresh ginger root will be ready to harvest at the end of the season; before the first frost. I could plant them in the ground, but they grow pretty well in a large pot, so I'll just move them outside in the same container.
