Are there any special talents or skills that your MC or SC might have?
Jade is technically a beast mage, though magery isn't acknowledged in the human world. She talks to birds, which is somehow acceptable & considered a separate human thing, but doesn't learn to use the rest of her skillset until much later. She gains another ability through a potion, but that would be a spoiler.
