Challenge: next park run you do your first mile at the pace of today’s last mile. Then you do the 2nd mile at the pace of today’s 2nd. And the last mile at the pace of today’s first. Give it a try. It will give you a different accomplishment feeling of doing the 5K. And train your ability to change pace (to a faster one) which will help to maintain the faster pace throughout the 5K later on. Also trains pacing, as it will be hard to not go out at a faster pace at the beginning.
