I’m not trying to flood your mentions. But I think part of my certainty about the lack of any afterlife was watching two of my grandparents evaporate in front of my eyes due to dementia.
Their brains malfunctioned and the delightful people they were became confused, angry, and… lost. They weren’t the same people. So I just have a hard time not believing we are our physical bodies.
But then again the only way to know for sure is if we die and survive it
