realcaseyrollins ✝️ (npub1q8n…kct8) ~am (npub1lek…qe82) it is really hard to defend fedi tbf, not that i would ever go back but it feels like a total fluke that a) i found a sphere i enjoyed in the first place and b) managed to develop a modicum of presence in that sphere
there's probably something to be said for the way that sort of thing happens on fedi vs a corporate "growth mindset" environment but it's a hard sell even for people actively willing to try fedi; "yeah its really cool except you have to know someone to access any of the half-decent instances and they all have wildly different norms and may or may not have beef with instances your friends belong to. also theres no discoverability beyond the shitty mastodon instances"
