I think we should just put the name and address directly on the chip itself. We shouldn't need a third party app or service to store this info. A quick search and it looks like most chips are also readonly :(
Someone in reddit did mention that rarely some chips are just T5577 and can be overwritten with whatever, and since they're not password protected, there's nothing stopping you from changing the data, but we should probably have some security for changing the data, but that could be a city level thing where the city can just unlock it for you for like an hour while you do whatever after you prove you own the pet. I would love anyone else's opinions here though!
