You know how many modern movie remakes/prequels have the problem of explaining literally every little thing, ESPECIALLY when it doesn't need to be explained? The 1951 A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim has exactly that problem. Sim is definitely the best Scrooge, but it's weighed down through too many scenes that didn't need to happen.
