So Calgary, my home town, declared a state of emergency this morning. It’s been operating with 40% of its usual water capacity for over a week due to a catastrophic rupture of the city’s primary feeder main.
They announced yesterday that repairs will take 3-5 additional weeks. This may grow yet as they haven’t finished their inspections. There is a full ban on outdoor water use and ‘RV rules’ indoors (curtailment on showers, appliance use and toilet flushing).
This is going to get ugly, fast.
