Instead of giving a bunch of permissions to a monolithic application, GrapheneOS redirects apps requesting location from Play services to using the OS location service within the apps themselves on the client side. It is not only microG which reimplements parts of Google Play, we do too. We took a different approach conforming to our privacy and security requirements along with being what we expect is easier to maintain.",
