maybe the idea of npcs is only concerning and/or (negatively) emotionally impactful if you have a collectivist and universalist view of human consciousness. otherwise, you wouldn't feel strongly, or at least strongly negative. thus, could feeling strongly about npcs be a reliable marker for capability of a collaborative moral universalism (or at least not total moral relativism)?
