Dual wielding handguns makes sense in some situations. Like if you have two guns and one breaks it is faster to just get another one. Sometimes it is faster to take another gun than reload. If you are wounded in one arm you can shoot with your other arm. Makes sense. Practical two handed shooting would be shooting it with one hand and then shooting another.
