the problem with monero is that it breaks domain boundaries by shifting the handling of dissociation and pattern-avoidance into a complex cryptography on chain instead of just fixing the way that wallets construct transactions
i'm pretty sure, if Satoshi were to tell us one new thing about what we are doing wrong with bitcoin it would be the construction of transactions
chain analysis is only easy because the default setting is minimal tx size which is minimal security
it is very simple to design a scheme to scatter and dissociate UTXOs so they are not possible to associate to anything
this is the reason for KYC, at all, is to try and pin IP addresses and persons to UTXOs
this would not be practical without this dumb, cheap way of making transactions
i enable coin control on my bitcoin node and when i do transactions i try to delink them but my stupid bank does onchain tx through a single address, over and over
i haven't reused that address in about 4 months now, because i think this is patently retarded, so i now only move sats to my xapo bank by using lightning, and they made it possible to deposit with lightning so the moment that happened i stopped using onchain, i'm not stupid
my pay goes into a fresh segwit address every month, and that goes to my lightning node, and the channels it fills are private channels and the bank doesn't literally even know if it's me sending the coins to it, that's just a guess
