And my point is that some people are more sensitive to alienation then others in the first place. I also think that it is not true that 'freedom tech is not a partisan issue', it surely is.
What do you value more? Freedom of association, or protection against harm? 'These' people are far more concerned with the latter than the former, it is also why Bitcoin does not appeal as much; censorship resistance is probably not even on their list, given censoring, outcasting etc. is their main means of wielding power. Say 'censorship resistance' and their first concern is some evil person gets that perk as well. Neutrality is not some neutral position.
