I nailed the "sweet and strong" part and the brandy-soaked oak chips added some nice tannins. I could probably try that again one day and just use more malt.
Did you like the 3.2% beer? I made a Brown Ale with like 3.5% once and it was quite nice and not too intoxicating so I see why one would make session beers.
