I managed to get paid before semiconductor tariffs hit, and ordered 2x32GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMMs and a 256GB m.2 2230 NVMe stick for the still unpurchased web services box, plus a speculative buy of a used Edimax 2x2:2 micro USB wifi dongle that's said to have good kernel support in 6.12+ ... I left my older dongle in nearby city B when visiting a friend and know I will get good use out of this new one which was half price open box.
now the only remaining purchases I need to complete near term are a mini PC that can take the aforementioned DDR4, and a decent quality 4TB or 2TB (budget option) SATA SSD based on QLC flash.
I have other upgrades in mind, but all are much lower priority than getting a second 24/7 server put together. not only because my first one is maxed out, but also to fully separate "work" vs "personal" for business purposes as I will be looking to incorporate when I can manage it.
