I remember being unimpressed way back. Not sure if some of the themes went over my head or if I just had too much of a good time with 6 and Tactics. Materia was a great system though
More recently, I played the first chapter of the remake and loved it. I feel like Square went hard for some of what I remember as being missteps in the original. Quite curious to see how it shapes up next
