I believe we still need empathy, representation of all different kinds of people in films, media, etc etc but I feel there is a lot of noise and ‘virtue signalling’ now which doesn’t really give people real justice. And perspectives become warped so the significant things become somehow insignificant and overlooked or purposely ignored for other agendas. How can we create a fairer world with this kind of mindset? I feel we really need to get back to basics of empathy and equality and work up from it again. I know there is a lot of complexity involved and I care deeply about human rights for all and I always will. But I feel we are going so wrong in many places. If we get back to a basic concept of not causing extreme suffering to others that’s surely the best place to begin again.
