Taken far back! Used to listen to this kind of music in the age when last.fm radio was working nicely as a new sounds provider (maybe it's still good, but payed, idk). Spent a lot of time starting with "artist similar to" a few Japanese projects and "obscurity filter" set down.
The biggest surprises were short lengths of the pieces and the re-use of a "scratch squeak effect" in different tunes.
