I’m fortunate to have grown up in a household where my parents hosted an informal artist’s salon — exposing me to important Egyptian writers, painters & thinkers, at an early age, before I recognized this was to be my tribe.

Today, nearly 3 decades later, I am united with a symbol-rich painting of Beethoven, by Youssef Francis, an Egyptian director, author & artist who was a sort of mentor when I was a young man & generously dedicated this painting to me 🙏🏼✨
