with an igpu, you can connect your monitor to it (and still tell games running normally to use the dedicated gpu for acceleration so they don't lose performance) and then when you turn on the VM you can use https://looking-glass.io/ to control the VM from within your normal desktop (so you can use both linux and windows at the same time)
