If Bitcoin was successfully 51 percented, what do you expect the short and long fallout would be?
I’ve been listening to Jason P Lowrey, who wrote “SoftWar”. He seems to think that the other network participants would take back control by increasing hash.
Is that practical though? Seems like only state actors or nonprofit actors would act in that way 🤔. Wouldn’t such an event shock BTC price and potentially put miners underwater? I suspect some would temporarily stop mining in such a scenario, giving the attacker a larger edge, no?
