I didn't read much as a kid; I watched way too much TV.

After a long day at school, I didn't feel like doing anything that used my brain; all my energy had been sapped.

But when I grew up, got out of school, began raising my family, focused on painting -- I started reading. Fiction, non-fiction, lots of books on art history.

And I discovered an amazing world . . .
