You're a male who played high school sports and you find the support and camaraderie in the video 'foreign and weird?' You look at these guys and think they're 'roided-up?' It's as foreign to you as a gay men's choir but everything you've said sounds like it should sung by a gay men's choir.
This is a Division I football weight room where a lineman is maxing out and his teammates are supporting him. Not one person in the video could reasonably be accused of steroid use based on their appearance.
This is basic male camaraderie and anyone weirded out by it should seriously have their testosterone checked.
I'm not saying that snarkily, either. This is, genuinely, a normal male environment. It's testosterone-fueled, goal-oriented, achievement-attaining, uplifting, joyous fucking awesomeness.
We suffer societally from a distinct lack of what we see here. Not specifically weight room bro fests, but unbridled expressions of maleness generally. Men want to be warriors and any serious civilization needs to embrace such men and harness their warrior energy. Ours pathologizes and punishes it. It calls it 'toxic.'
Then, products of our estrogen-fueled, soy-fed society grow up and find that their only personal record is the largest single donation to their favorite OnlyFans e-whore. These are the guys in the comments of the video calling it gay. I don't know how any male who has ever had an actual friendship with another male could call a video of a football team celebrating a lift 'gay.'
And I'm not going to do the lame 'you're just projecting' bit, either. I don't think they're calling it gay because they're gay - I just think they're socially inexperienced dorks with personality disorders. Whether it's on your college football team or your grade school LEGO robotics team, every guy should experience similar collective camaraderie in their life.
Nothing I'm saying here is a defense of the modern sporstball fan who ignores the decline of Western Civilization while wearing another man's jersey and paying for tickets to a commercial enterprise that sponsors that decline. But much of my first two decades revolved around playing sports, and, despite all of the social agendas that get pushed into sports now, they remain one of the last places where boys and young men can be boys and young men.
This video is young men being young men, and it's relatable to any male with normal testosterone. We need to open up far more space for men to be men again, but I just wanted to take a couple minutes here and express how truly weird anyone is who thinks this video is weird. The total lack of male normalcy in your life is depressing to contemplate, and I am deeply thankful to have lived a life free from such spiritual castration.
